Dear Timberline Families,
We have changed the way that we are managing holidays here at Timberline and we ask for your support in making it an effective way to both maintain holiday care for families and to provide our staff vacation time to celebrate holidays with their families. We are asking you to inform the school whether your child(ren) will be attending TLC on the holidays listed below. In the past, we have experienced very low attendance on holidays and are looking to staff more effectively on these days. The holidays that we are requesting your family’s advance schedule include:
*New Year’s Day
By the 5th of the month in which the Holiday occurs (or the 15th of the prior month for Independence Day and Labor Day), we are asking families to advise us if your child(ren) will be attending school on and around the holidays listed. We will track responses, thus allowing us to ensure we have adequate staff available for the holiday. We will utilize the State teacher to child ratios on the actual holiday, which will allow us to both honor the numerous vacation requests from our staff and continue to provide your family the service of holiday care.
Proceeding with a new protocol for this school year was a decision made by our Board of Directors in partnership with our Teaching Team, in an effort to meet everyone’s needs. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me here or at email@example.com
